Favorite Beauty Looks of the Oscars 2014

It was one of the biggest nights of the year in Hollywood last night! A-list stars walked the red carpet looking flawless before the Academy Awards. It was difficult to choose which looks I liked the best because their was so many, but here are some of my favorite looks of the night, some you can try at home, and some of the exact products used:

Olivia Wilde

The Makeup
I loved Olivia's look because it was simple, yet elegant. Her thick, winged eye liner reminds me of sixties mod and her flawless complexion brings out her cheekbones and and her "pregnancy glow". The great thing about this look, is that its easy to recreate at home. According to PopSugar, Olivia's makeup artist dished on the exact products she used... and they're affordable! On Olivia's eyes, she used Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black and Liquid Liner in Blackest Black. To mimic this look you really want to have a heavy hand with the eyeliner. Apply the eyeliner from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye, making a thicker line as you drag the liner to the outer part of the eye. Go over the eye again with the liquid liner and create a winged look going past the outer corner of your eye. If you have trouble with this technique, Jaclyn Hill has a great step by step tutorial on YouTube creating a similar eye liner look using gel liner. Although you may not be able to tell, but Olivia's makeup artist added a line just under the outer wing to create more of a mod look and compliment the black and white outfit. White eyeliner like NYX Slim Eye Pencil in White would work just fine. For Olivia's lips, her makeup artist used Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm in Complex and mixed it with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Cognito. Olivia's updo added more of effortless elegance to her look for the big night.

Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson looked gorgeous last night in her white Versace gown! She rocked the polished waves and the gray smoky eye for the "Old Hollywood Look", which in my opinion can never go wrong because its timeless. According to Harper's BAZAAR Magazine, before blow drying Hudson's stylist used Living Proof Prime & Living Proof Satin Hair Serum because of the rainy weather in Hollywood. Her stylist used more serum after blow drying was finished, then began to curl. To mimic this look create a deep side part. Curl all sections of your hair the same direction and brush lightly with a comb. After curls were finished, he finished with Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray (which by the way sounds amazing because you can use it on dry OR wet hair).

Angelina Jolie

Shut the front door. Angelina looked STUNNING last night, but when does she ever not with features like that? Usually, she keeps her look simple and plays up her lips occasionally, but this time she played up her eyes too. Wow!
To get her glowing complexion, use luminous foundation like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. If you don't feel the need to pay $62 for foundation, Loreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Foundation, which YouTube beauty guru Jaclyn Hill swears by, will work too. For the eyes, Jolie had a soft smokey eye with shimmery shadow and false lashes. When I noticed Jolie's shadow, I immediately thought of Bobbi Brown's Old Hollywood Palette with the mix of cool, warm, matte, and shimmery shades. To play up your lips like Jolie, apply neutral lip liner like Mary Kay's Lip Liner in Neutral then blending the line so it its not harsh, just defined. Then apply Jolie's favorite shiny nude lipstick, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Candeur, and finish with clear lip gloss.

Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock also looked stunning in the "Old Hollywood" look (see a trend here?). My favorite thing about this look is that it's not your typical smoky eye. I loved the pop of blue eyeliner in her waterline that matched her navy satin dress. Smoky eye and neutral cheeks and lips were the perfect balance for this look. To mimic this look, apply neutral blush, create a brown smoky eye, and apply Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Electric and finish off with neutral lip that matches the cheeks. You want all the focus to be on the eyes. Sandra did a similar hair do to Kate Hudson, but Sandra's curls were tighter and more defined.

Charlize Theron

Besides wearing a gorgeous Dior gown and dripping in diamonds, Charlize Theron looked amazing. I loved that she kept her look simple and chose a sleek bob with a deep part because her dress demanded much attention. Charlize's makeup looked flawless with coral lips and cheeks that compliment her fair skin and blonde hair. Her thick eye liner and natural false lashes made her eyes pop and complimented her modern black dress.

Kristin Chenoweth

I LOVED Kristin Chenoweth's look last night. Her gold Roberto Cavalli gown was beautiful. Kristin made a great choice like Charlize did by doing a sleek bob because her dress had so much detail. Kristin's look included a gorgeous natural tan that emphasized the gold dress, coral cheeks, false lashes, and nude gloss.
