Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y'all! Here are four of my favorite beauty items of the week--

This has been a life saver for me because I have been traveling a lot this summer and I just recently moved out of my apartment. I love that it holds SO much but most of all I love how it has a hook on it so you can hang it on just about anything to save counter space. It comes with a handy hand hook which makes it super easy to carry. Also, each small case in the roll up bag is velcro so you can take it off and put it in your purse, carry on, etc.
Due to less stress my skin has not been breaking out like it usually does during the school year so I stopped using acne products and switched to this cleanser and I loveee it. It's a 3 in 1 cleanser so it cleanses, exfoliates, and refreshes my skin in one step. This cleaner helps control my oil even in the dreaded heat of the summer. It's also very gentle. I have washed my face three times a day and it does not irritate my skin at all.
I have been loving this primer lately because it intensifies my eye shadow, prevents eye shadow fall out, and it keeps it in place for hours! I usually use my concealer then apply eye primer right before I apply my eye shadow. Life saver!
I have been in desperate need to get my hair done so my hair has been kind of dull. I picked up this hair spray because it's specifically made for blondes and to enhance shine. So far, I really like it because it brightens just a litte bit and holds my hair in place without weighing it down. Perfect for summer.

Purple Eclipse Makeup Tutorial

{ Step by Step}
1. Apply a pea size amount of Mary Kay Foundation Primer all over the face in circular motions. Apply Mary Kay Time Wise Luminous Foundation in Beige 1 with Shiseido Foundation Brush all over the face.
2. Apply Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory 2 under the eyes, eye lids and around the nose.
3. Set foundation and concealer with Mary Kay Sheer Pressed Powder in Ivory 2 in a dabbing motion.
4. Apply the pink blush in the Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo in Ripe Watermelon on the apples of the cheeks. Then apply the highlighter down the center of the nose and onto the cheek bones.
5. Apply Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light to Medium all over the face focusing on the outer edges of the face.
6. Apply Mary Kay Brow Pencil in Blonde onto the brows in the direction your hair grows.
7. Apply the lightest shade of the Mary Kay At Play Baked Eye Trio in Purple Eclipse onto the eyelid. Apply the purple shade into the crease of the eye. Then apply the black shadow in the outer crease of the eye and onto the upper lash line with an angeled brush. *Keep these colors low in the crease. If you apply this too high in the crease it could look like you have a black eye. *
8. Apply Covergirl Clump Crusher in black onto the upper and lower lash line.

NARS One Year Bolder 2015 Birthday Gift
The Sephora birthday gift for beauty insiders is a NARS lipstick set. Both of these lip sticks are VERY smooth/creamy. It almost feels like a lip balm. The colors are really pretty too.
I got a free sample of this from Sephora. I wasn't sure what to expect but I LOVE this foundation. It's really light but gives amazing coverage. It lasts pretty long too.
I've raved about the beauty blender before but I just love this makeup sponge. It blends your concealer, foundation, etc. flawlessly. I know some people have told me they don't enjoy the beauty blender as much as I do. One important thing is 1) always make sure you wet the sponge before you use it. Not only will this prevent a lot of product being absorbed in the sponge, but also it will expand the sponge drastically. Also, make sure you take care of the sponge. It's meant to be used for a long time, so take care of it. Using the beauty blender liquid cleanser with it is your best best because it's gentle. Honestly, if you use any other cleanser it's going to make the sponge a lot less soft and could damage the sponge.
Shiseido Foundation Brush
I bought this brush kind of on a whim. It's a lot smaller than I was expecting but I love this foundation brush. It's extremely soft and the size gives you optimal coverage.

July 4th Beauty

Happy 4th of July weekend to all! This blog post will talk about seven perfect 4th of July weekend products you need to look patriotic and how to use them.
1. SUN PROTECTION
Most people spend their July 4th outside. When you do catch some rays you always want to make sure your skin is protected. Not only does SPF help protect you from skin cancer but it also prevents you from showing the obvious signs of aging like dark spots and wrinkles.
Mary Kay Sun Care Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is water sweat resistant for up to 80 minutes! Mary Kay Sun Care Lip Protector Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 is great protection for your lips and is also water resistant.
2. TOUCH OF COLOR
When your outside this holiday, you want to your skin to look flawless but not cakey. The Mary Kay CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 is sooo creamy and the coverage is great! The coverage is enough to not need concealer and has a natural finish. If your oily you can wear this without concealer or foundation but you will need to set with powder.
3. BOLD EYE COLOR
I love all of these colors! I'll take you through each eye shadow and how to wear them!
Sparkling White (top left)
This eye shadow name is the perfect description. It is simply a white eye shadow with shimmer. You can use this to highlight in the inner corners of the eyes and as a highlight under the brow bone.
Azure (top right)
I love this color. This is a gorgeous teal color with a little shimmer. It is light enough to use from lash line to crease and pair it with golds and brown eye shadows. You can also put it under the lower lash line for a pop of color.
Peacock Blue (bottom left)
This shade is a true blue with slight shimmer. As suggested previously, you can use this from lash line to crease or use it in the lower lash line. This shade goes best with grays and black shadows.
Midnight Star (bottom right)
This shade is to die for. This is a gray/ blue shimmer shade. This is perfect to throw into the crease to darken up the eye look or use it from lash line to crease for a smoky eye look.
3. MELT PROOF FACE
You have the makeup look you want but how do you keep it from moving? Apply Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray by Skindinavia to keep your makeup in place for up to 16 hours. I have oily/ acne prone skin and I can still use this product without any issues. (Btw, this is the same manufacturer as the famous Urban Decay Makeup Setting Sprays... basically the same thing ;) )
4. RED LIPS
I love red lips for July 4th! It really gives a retro, patriotic look.
This Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Firecracker is so creamy, moisturizing and has amazing color pay off. I mean even the name is appropriate, don't you think?
If you want tinted red lips but nothing too bold, you will want to try Mary Kay At Play Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balm in Atomic Red. This lip balm gives you color but as you can see in the photo it's very subtle.
5. BRIGHT CHEEKS
This red shade (Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo in Spiced Poppy) may look too dark or intimidating but anyone can wear them! The trick is to use sparingly. Love the gold highlight it's paired with. Also very subtle.
6. BLUE EYELINER
(left to right)
I love using eye liners in blue! You can use them with neutral lid shades and apply the blue liquid liners along the top lash line or use the eye crayon and smudge along the lower lash line!

3. Apply Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory 2 under the eyes, around the nose, cupids bow, and a little on the center of the chin.
5. Apply Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light to Medium onto the edges of your face.
6. Apply Mary Kay Cheek Color in Shy Blush in circular motions working your way up to the temples.

9. Apply Mary Kay Eye Color in Honey Spice under the brow bone to highlight.
